On every Grand world voyage, there is a derby night. Guests decorate the big large hats, dress up in tuxedos and dresses, and go to the main pool deck to watch the “horse races”.

The horse races consist of 6 crew members dressing up as a jockey with their broomstick horse, each spray painted the color of their choice. Guests can vote on which horse they think will win, and then it’s off to the races! They do this by moving “spaces” and whoever crosses essentially the life size board game first, wins.

Some of the horse names included: Alimony Pony, and Talk Derby to Me. The winner, however, was Chewbacca. He started off as the underdog, so everyone was happy and cheering him on when he won and decided to jump into the pool to celebrate the victory.

We also crossed the international date line! I got a certificate and everything! So, January 28th, 2023 didn't exist for me!

Cheers,

Tay
